Interpol je njujorški indie-rock sastav formiran 1998. Njihov debitantski album pod nazivom Turn on the Bright Lights bio je ogroman favorit kritike, a nasljednik Antics velik uspjeh, kako kod kritike, tako i kod šire publike.

Interpol čine Paul Banks (vokal, gitara), Carlos Dengler na basu i klavijaturama, Sam Fogarino na bubnjevima i Daniel Kessler na gitari.

Sastav je nastao kad je Daniel Kessler upoznao Grega, bubnjara, na Njujorškom univerzitetu. postavu su popunili bivšim gitaristom Carlosom Denglerom, koji je prihvatio svirati za njih bas i Paulom Banksom, pjevačem kojeg je Kessler upoznao u Parizu. 2002., bubnjar napušta sastav i zamjenjuje ga Sam Fogarino, kojeg su ostali članovi upoznali kao radnika u mjesnoj trgovini pločama.

Njihov zvuk mračna je mješavina dugih, melodičnih bas-dionica ispresijecanih kratkim gitarskim rifovima. Interpol često povezuju s grupom Joy Division, na koju podsjećaju ozbiljnom glazbom i kompliciranim, često zbunjujućim tekstovima. Taj zvuk je pogotovo očit na prvijencu Turn on the Bright Lights, dok je Antics donio puniji, mnogo samouvjereniji zvuk. Nakon tromjesečne pauze koja je uslijedila završetkom Antics turneje, bend izdaje novi album Our Love To Admire.
Interpol su poznati po tome da sami produciraju albume, ali nakon što su se pjesme počele gomilati, odlučili su raditi sa čuvenim producentom Rich Costeyem koji je shvatio njihove želje i smjer i proširio zvuk novih pjesama. Album su snimili u rodnome gradu, New Yorku, u studiju Electric Lady, a sam grad bio im je nadahnuće.

Inače vokala Paula Banksa uspoređuju sa Ianom Curtisom (vokal Joy Divisiona) i stvaaaarno imaju presličan glas Very Happy

VOKAL liči na vokal od I.Curtisa..niko nije spominja sličnosti između muzike...

VOKAL liči na vokal od I.Curtisa..niko nije spominja sličnosti između muzike...

još gore... uspoređujete to sa jednim od najvećih rock glazbenika svih vremena azdaja

otvaraj ti oci kome os al nemoj tako lako vriđat muziku. ima ljudi kojima se to i sviđa. onda radije vriđaj te ljude, bar bi bilo ispravnije prema muzici Wink
